25 random things...

I've been tagged... yay!? Usually I just enjoy reading what others write...as I began writing this I was reminded of the recap of the first 25 years of my life I wrote as I was approaching my 26th birthday. That entry was more of a timeline of sorts so now for the moment you've all been waiting for... the 25 most random things about me that I could think of. Enjoy!
  1. I never read a book or watch a movie just once if I really love it.
  2. I have a fantastic family. My sister is one of my BFF's. My parents bless me beyond what I could ever deserve or repay. I have the best cousins on the planet. My aunts are wonderful women. The women in my family are rock stars when it comes to throwing a good party. I can only hope to live up to the examples that I have had the privilege growing up watching.
  3. I am a fan of the click flick. (Ann and I watched Return to Me probably 100 times during our two years as RA's together at K-State!) I love Ever After, My Best Friends Wedding, The Holidsay, 27 Dresses, 50 First Dates, just to name a few! :)
  4. My favorite number is 4... I have no idea why.
  5. I LOVE Cheddar Jack Cheez-Its, breakfast and diet coke. I could eat Mexican food every day of the week.
  6. I write better under pressure. Some of my best papers were finished with just minutes left before the due date. I also write to think and to process. It is a pretty wild time to go back and read through some of my journals. I have quite the stack since I started regularly journaling the spring of 2001.
  7. I am a fan of HSM! (Yes I have seen all three, went to HSM3 on opening night!) It's true, don't judge me.
  8. I check my email probably 25 times a day, if not more!
  9. I love anything with pomegranate in it.
  10. I enjoy taking pictures, especially of people, people I know and love!
  11. I don't like doing much by myself... (baking, much better when others are around to enjoy the yummy goodness...) I HATE going places by myself....(going to Target, way more enjoyable with a friend...) I won't go to a wedding by myself.
  12. I really like my job! I have a great group of students. I have the best boss in town. I work with some pretty great people too!
  13. I love chocolate ice cream. (Freddy's chocolate concrete with peanut butter is the BEST frozen treat in Wichita!)
  14. I don't like being cold but I enjoy the ever changing weather in Kansas. You can never get bored with it because if you wait 20 minutes it will change.
  15. I only like snow (and cold weather for that matter) when there is enough of it (snow) for school to be cancelled and snowmen to be built.
  16. People who think they know everything get on my nerves. There is always something that can be learned.
  17. My car is named Mable. (means lovable/beautiful one.) My first car was named Bernice. (means brings victory)
  18. My favorite thing to wear is jeans, a hooded sweatshirt and flip flops!
  19. I enjoy traveling but really I just enjoy seeing my friends who have relocated to a new place in the world. I don't like being a "tourist," I need a purpose for going.
  20. 98% of my facebook friends I have met and have had at the very least a couple conversations with! I thrive on being connected with "my people." I hate it when life happens and relationships fade. (However I hope that my path will one day cross with the 2% I haven't met yet.)
  21. My friend Amy and I keep talking about writing a book... we have lots of good content, mainly from the crazy things that have happened to us. We just need to actually do it! I'm sure our moms are the only ones that would actually read it but it could be fun. Besides that we would have to
  22. I LOVE birthdays! The day that the world was blessed with YOU is reason to celebrate!
  23. I strive to learn what people's love languages are and then loving them how they are best loved.
  24. I wish I could paint or draw but since I can't my goal/hope/dream whatever you want to call it, is to decorate my house with original art created by those people in my world who are more talented than me.
  25. My life mission is to Love Jesus more and love people better.

Today I met a legend....

at least if you are a K-State fan! Coach Snyder was in town talking to one of my students (i.e. great kid, great athlete.) Word spread fast that "HE was in the building." So what does this kid do? (I march my happy self down to the gym with camera in hand... shake his hand, introduce myself, take a picture, talk about K-State, teaching, influencing kids...it was great!)

They say pictures are worth a 1,000 words, well let this one speak for itself!

it's been a while...

I couldn't hardly believe it when I saw that it had been 3 weeks since I have written anything on this little piece of cyberspace.... kind of sad, but also a sign that the last 3 weeks have been pretty crazy and busy and wonderful all at the same time.

To recap...It began in Colorado and ended with the first week back to work. It always takes me a few days to get back into the swing of things... (i.e. going to bed at a decent time so that I can wake up and get to work on time and actually function somewhat nomally.)

You don't really want to listen to me blab about the last three weeks. So on that note I will post a few pictures that should sum it up nicely!

My sister and I at Christmas!

The material says alot about our personalities!

Sporting our Breckenridge shirts and the blankets that mom made! The colors say it all!
My newest "nephew" Josiah! I am most definitely his favorite aunt!

Kara, Kacie, Eva, Amy and I at Jessica's wedding!
(love these ladies)

Kacie, Rachel and I met for breakfast. It was wonderful!

The WC reunited again! :)

The WC all dressed up for Bryan and Jessica's wedding!

Matt and I after Molly's wedding!
